The Project:
Celtic Anglian Water, the existing operator of the Ringsend WwTP, is working with established partners Farrans Construction & TES Technologies to upgrade the existing secondary treatment stage at the Ringsend plant, which will include the upgrade of 15 of the existing secondary treatment tanks to enhance capacity. The upgrade will retrofit advanced process treatment technology into the secondary treatment stage providing an enhanced level of treatment within the existing infrastructure.
Services & Expertise:
Farrans specialise in the Water sector and we are currently working alongside Irish Water, Affinity Water, Northern Ireland Water and Anglian Water. This is the first of four contracts to retrofit the existing secondary treatment tanks at the Ringsend WWTP plant with Aerobic Granular Sludge (AGS) Technology. The overall upgrade that is underway by Irish Water will deliver, on a phased basis, the capacity to treat the wastewater for a population equivalent of 2.4 million while achieving the standards of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive.
Works on this contract have now finished and took 12 months to complete.
