The Holywood Arches Community Treatment Centre was the first of three new health centres for south and east Belfast. The 6,300m2 project required a refurbishment and the construction of a community care and treatment centre.
Client
South and East Belfast Health and Social Care Trust
The Project
The initial construction process to solve the complex works on the site was to develop an in-depth system of construction programmes containing multiple phases.
Together with the phased approach strategy, we appointed a client liaison officer to be responsible for communicating with the client on construction activities. The client liaison was responsible for keeping user groups and staff of the existing centre informed of general site activities and interface issues.
Services & Expertise
A particularly complex aspect of the project was the fact that it was constructed alongside a fully functional health centre meaning the works had to be carried out with minimal disturbance within the three major phases.
This centre represents significant innovation in the delivery of a range of out of hospital services including social care, community healthcare and acute care. The facility provides new office accommodation for administration, a number of GP practices, minor surgery unit, a range of therapy clinics and support services.
