Farrans partners with Ulster University’s Construction Society

18.10.2024

Farrans is proud to partner with Ulster University’s newly formed Construction Society as it officially launches its 2024/2025 programme of events and membership options.

Led by a board of enthusiastic students the Construction Society seeks to bridge the gap between academic study and real-world site experience to empower future leaders through hands-on projects, industry networking and skill workshops.

Having already surpassed their target membership figure for this year, the society has welcomed over 60 new members in the last four weeks with construction management, civil engineering, design, architecture and technology students all registering to find out more about the exciting opportunities in the construction sector.

Rebecca Kincade, Head of Communications and Marketing at Farrans, presented to Ulster University this week to profile the range of graduate and placement opportunities which are currently open for applications.

Speaking about the partnership Rebecca said: “We are always looking at new ways to engage with the next generation of talent in our industry and when we were approached by the board of Ulster University’s Construction Society in September to see if we would partner with them it was an easy decision when you could see the level of enthusiasm, creativity and ambition the students had, not only for their own career pathways but for those of their fellow classmates.

“There has always been a strong relationship between Farrans and Ulster University. Throughout the next year we are looking forward to welcoming the society to some of our sites as well as offering talks from our construction managers and civil engineers and providing support and guidance as the team navigates the first year of a busy schedule.”

Hannah McSorley, Chairperson at the Construction Society said: “We can’t thank Farrans enough for not only their support from day one, but also for the encouragement and guidance to push the limits on what we thought was possible, and the confidence to achieve it.”
