Farrans’ charity golf day raises £2,900 for Great Western Air Ambulance
An annual charity golf day held by Farrans and supported by our sponsors has helped to raise over £2,900 for the Great Western Air Ambulance service, an organisation which provides critical care services to 5+ people a day in their region.
The charity was chosen as part of the social value engagement taking place at our Griffiths Farrans JV project at Bristol Airport.
Fifty enthusiastic contenders took to the course at Wyboston Lakes in Bedfordshire on one of the hottest days of September. The leaderboard featured some familiar faces with golfing talent Oliver Borley taking the overall top spot, not for the first time.
The winning Farrans player, and organiser of the event, was Richard Weir – a third title for him. He was presented with a shield and the non-negotiable opportunity to arrange next year’s event.
In a golf day first we also had a Farrans’ ladies competition. In the competitive field of one, Rebecca Kincade took the title, which was thankfully secured long before she sent her first drive straight into the lake.
Thank you to all of our 19 sponsors for making the day possible including:
Sunbelt, Irwin M&E, Jewson, Buttles, Savin Consultants, Ada Fast Fix, Howards Civil Engineering, U Value Insulation, Blu Frog, Marney, McCartan Joinery, Harniss M&E, Conneely, Connect Scaffolding, Murdocks, JP Corry, Leviat, Dowds Group and Thorntons.
