Northern Ireland’s Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd tours Belfast Grand Central Station
Northern Ireland’s Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd has toured the new Belfast Grand Central Station ahead of its phased operational opening next weekend.
Our client Translink has announced that services will be introduced in phases with buses currently operating from the Europa Bus Centre to move over first on Sunday 8th September followed by rail operations, with a date to be confirmed.
Farrans and JV partner Sacyr are delivering the main works on the NI Executive Flagship Belfast Grand Central Station project alongside Translink. When completed it will be Ireland’s largest state of the art integrated transport hub for trains, coaches and buses.
Public Realm work around the station will continue in to 2025.
Bringing further transformation of public transport, enhancing local and international connectivity, the new station is a game changer for the whole of Northern Ireland, set to inspire people to use more sustainable travel for a better connected, cleaner and healthier region for everyone.
