Final turbine base poured at Enoch Hill Wind Farm

We have completed the final turbine base pour at Enoch Hill Wind Farm in Scotland for client RWE.

The 15 turbine bases are made up of 13 x N133s and 2 x N117s from supplier Nordex. The N133 bases have 65 ton of steel reinforcement each and 409m3 of concrete. The N117 bases have 54 ton of steel reinforcement and 327m3 of concrete. Each pour started at 6am and finished at 6pm.

The turbine deliveries are due to commence in the summer.  In advance of that milestone, all access tracks have now been completed and the control building is in the process of being fitted out.

Enoch Hill is located in East Ayrshire near to the village of New Cumnock. When built, it will be capable of producing up to 70MW of electricity and power for 68,000 average UK households.

With access roads in place and final preparations being made to the Control Building, plans are already underway to commence the complex operation of bringing the turbines to site in the coming months.”
