Belfast Marathon runners raise over £3,000 for NI Hospice

6.05.2024

Congratulations to our six relay teams, and organiser Sarah Heffernan, who took part in the Belfast Marathon this weekend, raising over £3,000 for NI Hospice.

The hospice cares for more than 4,000 babies, children and adults with life-limiting illnesses, both in hospice and in the community.

The Moy Park Belfast City Marathon is one of the leading marathons in the UK and Ireland and is an AIMS certified race. The race started at Stormont and finished in Ormeau Park, running through all four areas of the City; North, South, East and West over 26.2 miles.

Sarah, who organised our teams, said: “It was great to build upon last year’s success and have 6 teams taking part in the marathon this year. I was blown away by the amount of volunteers that came forward from all across the company, of all ages and abilities, to make up our teams.

“You couldn’t miss our Farrans’ t-shirts and the atmosphere and support on the day was amazing with everyone involved doing a brilliant job completing their legs in great times.

“After a poll within our group, NI Hospice was clearly our chosen charity – it’s such a worthy charity and we are delighted to have been able to raise such a fantastic amount for them. This is now well established as an annual Farrans event and I look forward to organising 2025.”
