Keynsham Recycling Hub site receives Excellent CCS rating
Farrans has received an Excellent performance rating from a recent Considerate Constructors Scheme audit at our Keynsham Recycling Hub site for client Bath & North East Somerset Council.
Work is progressing on the development of a two level modern recycling centre, a reuse shop for people to donate items for reuse and resale, an MOT centre and an education centre, which is due for completion in late 2023.
In line with the council’s Climate and Ecological Emergency declarations and policy aims, the Keynsham Recycling Hub project will integrate many sustainability measures including on-site renewable energy generation.
Farrans bring a strong organisational approach to responsibly managing our environmental footprint across site operations and value chain. This project will see the delivery of new innovative methods of sustainable construction and management throughout the works.
The CCS report summary said:
“This report highlights Farrans’s continuing desire to demonstrate from the outset that they endeavour to ensure that their works have as low an impact as is reasonable on the surrounding environment and local population.
Respect the Community: Farrans presents a highly professional appearance to the surrounding neighbours and general public, with consistent site processes. The site team are clearly positively engaged with the local community and have strong relationships with many groups contained within the area.
Protect the Environment: Farrans has clear and concise environmental and sustainability procedures and processes and obviously have leading carbon reduction processes already in place across all of its operations.
Value their Workforce and care about Safety: The site has in place well considered H&S procedures and auditing, training programmes and occupational health support. Care of the Workforce forms a strategic component of Farrans’s company Vision and Values and this is generally demonstrated throughout this report.
Overall, it is clear that Gerard and the whole Farrans site team are highly committed to the CCS Code of Conduct.”
