Open day scheduled for Gull Wing bridge site in Lowestoft
Suffolk County Council is hosting a Public Open Day and Tour at our Gull Wing bridge site taking place on Saturday 21st October.
The Gull Wing is an iconic and important bridge for Lowestoft, being delivered by Suffolk County Council and built by Farrans Construction. Opening in 2024, the bridge will be a much-needed third crossing over the town’s Lake Lothing.
The Gull Wing will reduce traffic congestion in the town, regenerate the area and attract new investment for the local economy.
There will be three bookable sessions, which will have limited spaces.
All tickets must be pre-booked:
9am – 11:am
11:45am – 1:45pm
2:30pm – 4:30pm
The sessions will consist of a presentation on works taking place around the project as well as a brief history. This will then be followed by a walking tour around the South side of the site. The tour may also include a walk up the Southern Approach itself, subject to surfacing works.
The tour is included as part of the sessions but is completely optional on the day. Bookings will be open from Friday 22nd September so keep an eye on @gullwingbridge on Twitter for links and further information.
