Farrans secures spot on £360m Yorkshire Highways Alliance deal

6.09.2023

We have secured a spot on a major works framework covering highways and transportation projects in Yorkshire.

Alongside the alliance partners, Farrans will deliver projects valued over £7m.

The framework firms will be used by Leeds Council and the wider Yorkshire Highways Alliance, which also includes the councils of Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees Council, York and Calderdale.

It will also be available to any local authorities or contracting authorities who are a wholly owned subsidiary of the local authorities within the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Andy Brown, Strategic Projects Director at Farrans Construction, said:

“We have a long and proud history of successful work in the transportation sector in England and we are looking forward to working alongside our alliance partners on forthcoming major projects in the Yorkshire area.

“Farrans has been steadily growing a presence in this part of England and recently completed a £10m project at A1M Junction 47 which involved widening three of the four slip roads onto and off the roundabout to increase capacity and improve road safety. This project is shortlisted for the Major Project award at the Highways UK Excellence Awards in October and it won the Best Highways and Transportation Project at a recent CIHT Yorkshire and Humber. We are delighted that this project has already had a significant impact for travel in the region.”
