Farrans retains Transformational Status Engineers Ireland accreditation

22.11.2022

Farrans has been accredited by Engineers Ireland in recognition of the quality of, and commitment to, its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) systems and practices for engineering and technical staff, retaining Transformational status for the next three years.

As an Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer we are part of an exclusive network of organisations that have demonstrated commitment to the professional development of their staff by implementing a best practice framework in order to recruit and retain talented staff and win projects.

Cara Hanna, Learning and Development Advisor, said:

“We have had accreditation with Engineers Ireland for many years now, however three years ago we achieved ‘Transformational’ status due to the amount of good work we have put in place. This year we are proud to have held on to that status.”

“The process was very easy to follow. It is a great reminder of everything that has been achieved and an opportunity to identify new areas for improvements against all seven criterons. Preparation was straight forward and using the area experts in each field to feed in was so important. You get to hear and see things that are happening in other parts of the business so the shared knowledge is valuable.”

The audit report said:

“The concepts of partnering, alternative forms of contract, value engineering, Public Private Partnerships and Performance Related Partnering have all been embraced by Farrans and kept the organisation at the forefront of innovation and modern construction techniques for over 80 years. Central to Farrans’ operations is a commitment to the values of health and safety, quality, and the environment. Management systems are ISO accredited and their approach to responsible stewardship of industry best practice has been recognised through achievement of BS8900 Sustainable Development.”

“Farrans as an employer, has a programme of continual development that is transformational both personally and professionally for over 600 employees working in locations across the UK and Ireland.”
