Diwali Lights at Leeds Live Oasis: Strato

This week to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, our Live Oasis: Strato site in Leeds city centre has been illuminated.

The word Diwali means ‘rows of lighted lamps’. Diwali is known as the ‘Festival of Lights’ because houses, shops and public places are decorated with small oil lamps called ‘diyas’.

Diwali always falls between October and November, but the exact date varies each year as the Hindu calendar is based on the Moon.

In 2022, Diwali day is on Monday 24 October and the five-day festival ends on Wednesday 26th October.
