Excellent Considerate Constructors Scheme Audit for Leeds project
Our Live Oasis: Strato site, which is being led by Darren McIvor as Project Manager and Rudi Moore as Contract Manager, has been recognised as Excellent in its most recent Considerate Constructors Scheme Audit.
The site comprises of a 20 storey student accommodation block in Leeds City Centre. There is an in-situ concrete podium to the 1st floor and the remainder of the building has a pre-cast concrete frame with precast concrete cladding panels.
The site is very restricted with the building taking up most of the site footprint. It is surrounded on 3 sides by smaller student accommodation blocks and a road on the other.
Professional operation
The auditor thanked our team for being so welcoming and talking so passionately about the project.
The report said:
“It is clear from the very outset that this is a professional operation. The welfare facilities are spotlessly clean and have everything the site team would need to make their rest breaks comfortable. It is a tight site and the opportunities from an environmental perspective are limited by comparison to other sites. There are clearly defined plans to engage with the local community and with the site teams and the wider community.
“There is clear evidence of community engagement and Darren has an excellent working relationship with his neighbours. This includes the two contractors who are working on adjacent sites and the owner/operator of the adjacent student accommodation, the local authority and other local businesses.”
Value workforce
“The site is well run, and operatives and staff are valued, that is evident from what can be seen. The Project Manager operates an open-door policy which everyone on site is encouraged to take advantage of. The impact of a positive working environment for all is clearly understood and the benefits of that are clear to see. As the site has become busier the standards are being maintained and I am sure this will continue for the duration of the project.”
