The Project

This project was undertaken in a number of phases to accommodate the existing nursery, live school days and nearby existing structures such as a data centre for the London Borough of Haringey and a sub-station of London Underground. Phase 1 involved the progressive strip out of the existing office partitions, ceilings, flooring and M&E and joinery fittings. The internal layout was reconfigured to produce a modern and fit for purpose school for the Harris Federation.

Phase 2 was a new build element to the scheme which consisted of a three-storey steel frame, flat roofing, metsec framing/boarding and external brickwork plus aluminium windows. Internally it consisted of serviced suspended ceilings and a high standard of finishes. Phase 3 was the design and build of a new sports hall, dance hall, training room, shower block and external play pitches.

The site was located on an old recycling depot with severely contaminated ground. The new sports facility will serve 1570 pupils from the newly built and refurbished Harris Tottenham All Through Academy completed by Farrans on two previous phases.
